The Need
Each day, two million New Yorkers turn to nonprofits for help. They depend on assistance from community-based nonprofits for a range of issues -- from emergencies like homelessness and hunger to long-term needs like education and health care. These community based organizations turn to CRE when they need help. More than 300 nonprofits come to CRE each year for management assistance.
The Partnership
CRE partners with our clients and works to help nonprofits have greater impact through one-to-one consulting, professional development, and strategic advice. These services enable nonprofits to sustain and build programs addressing critical issues in low-income neighborhoods.
CRE is committed to the success of the nonprofit sector and raises funds to make sure that nonprofits which cannot afford our services are able to get the help, advice and leadership skills they need to succeed.
The Results
Every dollar you contribute to CRE:
- Is an investment in the health and stability of a network of community-based organizations fighting poverty in New York City including soup kitchens, youth programs, immigrant service centers, HIV prevention programs and senior centers.
- Leverages your charitable dollars by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of many nonprofits and making a difference in New York City’s poorest communities.

Your donation is tax-deductible because Community Resource Exchange is recognized by the IRS as a non-profit organization under Sec. 501(c)(3). CRE also is approved by the Better Business Bureau. Corporate, foundation and personal contributions of all amounts are enthusiastically accepted.

Honor/Memorial Gifts
Gifts can be made to CRE in tribute or memoriam of someone special. We will send a notification of your gift, so please be sure to include a name and address with your donation.

Plan now, through a bequest, to reduce potential tax burdens and ensure that more of your estate goes to support the issues and organizations you care about.
Special Event Gifts
In lieu of gifts at your next event or celebration, ask your guests to make a donation to CRE.
