Meet Andrea. Andrea J. Rogers is a Senior Consultant and DEI Practice Lead at Community Resource Exchange (CRE) and has 22 plus years of domestic and global experience with community based organizations, nonprofits/NGOs, and philanthropies. At CRE, Andrea works with a wide spectrum of clients on aspects of organizational development including strategic planning, board development, team building, culture change, leadership development, and executive coaching. She lead’s CRE’s consulting team in designing curriculum and providing individual and organizational work around diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) practices for social justice organizations. This work involves organizational assessments, coaching, and encouraging clients’ reflection on their individual identities, as well as finding opportunities to increase racial equity within their teams, institutions, and networks.
She’s got a lot of experience. Andrea co-authored “The Hidden Cost of DEI Work – And What to Do about It” in the August 2021 edition of the Nonprofit Quarterly. She has a Masters of Public and International Affairs, Economic and Social Development from GSPIA at University of Pittsburgh, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She is an ICF certified healing-centered coach through Blooming Willow Coaching. Additionally, Andrea is certified in Clark Wilson’s Task Cycle 360 Degree Feedback, Clifton Strengths Finder, and several other management assessment tools.
Prior to joining CRE, Andrea worked in the international development and philanthropy space and was a Regional Program Officer for Southern Africa at the Synergos Institute providing capacity building to grantmakers and affinity groups in Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. She was also a Senior Program Officer for Africa at AJWS. Andrea spent several years as a freelance consultant providing support to organizations like UNAOC, the Global Center for Pluralism (Canada), and the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation – USA. She has resided, studied and worked in Senegal, several Southern Africa countries and the United States.
Outside of work. Andrea volunteers at Custom Collaborative and Achieving Leadership’s Purpose. She enjoys traveling, friends and family, music, and dancing.
