Melkis Alvarez-Baez

Meet Melkis. Melkis Alvarez-Baez is CRE’s Chief Operations Officer. In this role, Melkis is responsible for effective internal operations and planning, and oversees core functions of finance, human resources, and operations, including tech.

Find out a little more. Prior to joining CRE, Melkis worked at Nonprofit New York for close to 10 years in a number of different roles, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, and Deputy Director prior to that. Nonprofit New York works to strengthen and unite New York’s nonprofit community. Melkis worked at Advocates for Children of New York for five years, first as a case manager and later as Co-Director of their education helpline. AFC supports children most at risk of failing out of school in receiving an appropriate education. Melkis obtained her MS in Nonprofit Management from The New School’s Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy. She also has a Bachelors of Science from Harvard College.

Go on, a little bit more. Melkis serves as a Board member of Job Path, an organization supporting people with developmental disabilities as they make choices about their lives and play valued roles in their communities. Melkis also serves on the Junior Board of Advocates for Children of New York.
